Happy 2015

Hello everyone!

Good news … Elder Bassett and I are staying together! It’s gonna be a Righteous transfer. Being transfer day, we were pretty busy with helping everyone get to there new areas and bringing the new people into the zone. It’s gonna be an awesome transfer, we have a lot of good missionaries in the Zone, it’s going to be so fun. We have a ton of awesome things planned for the transfer.

E. Bassett & E. Rusick 2015

We have been working really hard in every way we can. The service of the Lord come in many forms. We have been working really hard to help people come closer to Christ that aren’t already members of the Church, and it is coming around. I feel like we really are going to take off this transfer and find all of God’s elect in the area and help them experience Christ and come unto His fold. In the mean time, we have found real success in helping other missionaries and it is bringing me GREAT joy. Even though my purpose is to baptize, by helping people meet the qualifications for baptism – D&C 20:37, 37 And again, by way of commandment to the church concerning the manner of baptism—All those who humble themselves before God, and desire to be baptized, and come forth with broken hearts and contrite spirits, and witness before the church that they have truly repented of all their sins, and are willing to take upon them the name of Jesus Christ, having a determination to serve him to the end, and truly manifest by their works that they have received of the Spirit of Christ unto there mission of their sins, shall be received by baptism into his church.” – and helping other missionaries become more effective is fulfilling my purpose. So we may not always get to serve the way we want… This is why it is so important for us to align our will with God’s. He knows how he want’s us to serve. And through Christ and honest true repentance even our desires can change to become aligned with the will of the Father. Even as Christ’s had in the Garden of Gethsemane.  “2 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.” Luke22:42-43.

How does the Lord want you to serve him? As long as the desire of our hearts are TRULY to follow our Savior Jesus Christ, we will find it. I have found this desire to serve, it is absolutely, totally contagious! This desire to serve God has been wrought upon me through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. By accepting the Gospel in it’s fullness and applying it in my life. Because of the influence of the Holy Ghost I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint is the Kingdom of God established here on earth. I know that Jesus is the Christ the Savior AND Redeemer of my soul. He is My Life and My Light And I will serve him forever

Love you all!

Elder Rusick
