Another great week of hard work, ups and downs, success and learning in Brighton. It just started the first snow about an hour and a half ago. YAY! I love missionary work in the snow. Hopefully I stay on bike all winter again (no sarcasm at all). It’s supposed to be pretty cold this week, some sort of Alaskan vortex thing or something, I don’t know. But this week was full of miracles. Just a side note, we had breakfast for dinner 4 times this week, I love our members. I’m pretty nervous I have to talk in Zone Conference next week… It’s only 5 minutes, but it’s an important 5 minutes and like 90 missionaries. Pray for me that I can deliver my message clearly and effectively please!
I won’t lie a lot of our week was disappointing, all of our investigators bailed on us and we didn’t see any of them this week… it was kind of a huge bummer. So we are spending a lot of time right now finding new ones that are a little more reliable or I guess a better word would be more interested in learning about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Plan of Salvation.
So we have really been focusing our finding efforts and our efforts with members on the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon along side our testimonies of Christ the Lord are the most important instruments in missionary work.
“4 For behold the field is white already to harvest; and lo, he that thrusteth in his sickle with his might, the same layeth up in store that he perisheth not, but bringeth salvation to his soul;” (D&C4:4)
The Book of Mormon is our harvesting tool, or our sickle. And along side our testimonies we can “confound the wise and bringeth about the salvation of many souls.” (Alma 37:7) It’s amazing, it all weighs on the Book of Mormon. All I do is bear witness of Christ and His Gospel, that He lives, that the Book of Mormon is true and they can know the things I know if they try it out. And if they are truly willing, and desire to know, God will manifest them the truth by the power of the Holy Ghost. It’s funny how little we are really asking of people 😛
We had an awesome experience with this at dinner with the Bunts. A non- Member came and had dinner with us and he’s from ft. Collins. But after dinner we stuck with the plan to talk about the Book of Mormon. It was really cool! We testified of the truth of the BoM and Arlo told us he had been praying for a miracle and then when he saw us and as we testified of the BoM he knew his prayer was answered. We gave him a copy and he was truly touched.
I know the BoM is true, it is the Words of Christ. (2 Nephi 33:10)
I love you all
