I keep meaning to send pictures, but I always either forget the camera or the cord…. Sorry! I want everyone to remember the TRUE significance of CHRISTmas this year. The birth of our Lord and Savior. We celebrate a time of love, charity, service and thanks that is symbolic of the ultimate gift our Jesus Christ gave us. The Atonement. The gift that gives us life after death. The gift that cleanses us before the eyes of God (if we so chose). The gift that brings us closer to Heaven in world of declining standards and morals. Show thanks to our Brother, Jesus by accepting Him as your Savior. Think about what that means! What joy that should bring! Show your love to all as the Savior did. He loves us all! “freely ye have received, freely give.” 🙂 ❤ Love you all.
So stoked on Mick Fanning being now a 3 time ASP World Champ! I knew he would win! Consistency is where it counts! 🙂
So this week went PRETTY DARN SLOW… The R family made it all worth it though. We were told, they won’t answer the door, even if you make an appointment, that they don’t accept rides to church, that nobody has seen them at church in years despite their efforts. We decided to follow the spirit and go anyways. Well, as you might have guessed they answered the door. And just as we were about to be turned away, Brother R called out, “Let them in, let them in!” We sat down and they ASKED US to help them find a ride to church, because he can’t walk to the bus stop anymore because of numerous surgeries. We were prompted to give him a blessing. So we asked if he wanted one and he said yes. The spirit was so strong it was the very breath we were taking. I love them and I can’t wait to see them at church next week!
Also BC… He’s been coming to church lately and involved in ward activities. He’s still claiming to be an atheist. I know he isn’t though. The Lord has commanded me to tell him some things that he needs to hear. I don’t know how it will turn out, he may tell me to never come over again but all I know is the Lord has made it clear to me that this is what he needs to hear. So Saturday cannot come soon enough for dinner! I love this guy. He is probably the coolest person I’ve met in Denver. I would love nothing to see him reactivate and enter into the temple with his wife! He’s an RM… He MUST know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true.
Also we met a man named B this week! He’s a potential investigator. He owns the bar across the street from our apartment. He told us he used to pose as an LDS missionary to sneak pot onto airplanes. But he told us he is interested in learning more about us. So I couldn’t be more excited to visit with him. I pray that the spirit might prick his heart and bring about a desire to change his life. I know the Lord loves him and desires B to return to His presence.
The M family is pretty much fully reactivated I’d say! 🙂 They grow stronger each week!
Elder Uasilaa and I have a goal to make this week the best week of our missions so far. And then the week after to be better. and then better and better and so on and so forth. Our success is based entirely on our faith in Jesus Christ and effort.
Bruce Lee says,
“Don’t fear failure. — Not failure, but low aim, is the crime. In great attempts it is glorious even to fail.”
I love that! We are making GREAT attempts by having faith in Christ. You won’t always find those who are READY for the gospel. Not everyone we teach will repent right then and there. Through our faith in Christ he will lead us to those who NEED TO HEAR the gospel. They may not be ready for it. So what is success out here? Is it how many baptisms you have? Or is it how many people are effected by the spirit and causes them to increase in faith and come closer to Jesus Christ? Including us missionaries! (I’m not saying baptisms don’t do that, everyone moves at a different pace though) It’s all just something to think about. I love you all!
